We welcome ABDA's Biomethane: the pathway to 2030 report launched in parliament on Monday, highlighting biomethane's potential to contribute 30% of the emissions reductions required this decade to be on track to meet the UK’s net zero emissions target for 2050.

Our Commercial Director Simon Reilly spoke at the event to mark the report's launch and highlighted how we've led the way in biomethane development having invested £40 million and connected 35 facilities to our network which supply the annual needs of 200,000 homes with green gas.

Simon explained that we want to have 450,000 properties supplied by green gas by the end of the GD2 price control period in 2026, but urgent policy support is needed for new biomethane plants looking to inject biomethane from 2021 to allow this potential to be realised.
